Applications are now open for the GovAI Winter Fellowship 2027 in London, UK. This is a three-month fully funded fellowship that runs from January 18 to March 9, 2027.
Those selected for the program will spend three months working with the GovAI team in London. The fellowship is designed for people from each country who are new to the field of AI governance.
During the program, fellows will work on a research project related to AI governance and gain valuable knowledge and experience in the field. AI governance focuses on creating rules, guidelines, and ethical principles for the responsible development and use of artificial intelligence.
There is no application fee. GovAI will also cover the costs of a temporary UK work visa for a fellowship period of 3 months.

Objective of the GovAI Winter Fellowship
The program invites fellows to join the GovAI team to conduct independent research on their chosen topic and receive guidance from leading experts. Interns receive mentorship from experts, develop a research proposal in the first two weeks, and produce a product such as a report or article. GovAI Fellowship alumni have secured positions in leading AI companies (DeepMind, OpenAI, Anthropic).In addition to research, fellows can interact with AI governance experts through Q&A sessions, workshops, and social events. They also have opportunities to build skills and discuss future career paths.
