Do You Need the Max Planck Internship?
No, knowledge of the German language is not required. All participating institutes use English as their working language.
Intern Duty
As an intern, you will work closely with a research group at one of the participating institutions and be mentored by at least one faculty member.
Eligibility Criteria
- The internships are open to students from all countries.
- You can apply if you are studying for a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD and have basic knowledge of Computer Science.
- Students who want to do their Bachelor’s or Master’s thesis projects can also join.
- If you are currently enrolled in a degree program, you are welcome to apply.
- Applicants from different study fields are encouraged too, including social sciences, economics, law, humanities, and more, especially if your work connects with Computer Science.

Visa Support
If you are selected for an internship and need a Visa to come to Germany, Max Planck will provide the necessary documents to obtain the visa.
