What is Colombia Government Scholarship?
The Colombian Government Scholarship is an ICETEX initiative aimed at helping foreign students pursue higher education in Colombia.
This program promotes international cooperation and cultural exchange by providing educational opportunities in a variety of fields.

Number of Scholarships
Through this call, up to 70 scholarships will be awarded across two categories:
- Postgraduate Studies: For international students who wish to pursue a specialization or master’s degree at a selected public or private university in Colombia.
- Spanish Language + Postgraduate Studies: For non-Spanish speaking international students who need to learn Spanish before starting their specialization or master’s degree.
Duration of Program
- Spanish Language Courses: Up to six months
- Specializations: Up to twelve months
- Master’s Degrees: Generally up to twenty-four (24) months
- If a Master’s program has a curriculum of only three academic semesters, coverage is limited to eighteen (18) months.
Eligibility Criteria
- Foreign nationals from any country can apply.
- This scholarship is open to all students who are outside Colombia.
- Not for Colombian citizens and nationals.
- No marriage or de facto relationship in Colombia.
- Age must not exceed 50 years.
- Must have a professional, undergraduate, or graduate degree in any field.
- Applicants can apply for a maximum of three degree programs.
- IELTS is not required.
