Applications are now open for the 2027 International Writers’ Conference in Hong Kong. This is a fully funded workshop hosted by the International Workshop of Writers (IWW) at Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU). This prestigious residency program, which will take place in Hong Kong from 26 April to 25 March 2027, is open to writers from around the world. This year’s theme is “Legacy”. Applicants are encouraged, but not required, to link their documents to this article. As the program progresses, participants will reflect on their writing and share their stories with others. The meeting will conclude with an IWW Literary Workshop.

About the Residency
Founded in 2004, the International Writers’ Workshop has hosted over 150 writers from over 60 countries. The 2027 residency will culminate with an IWW Literary Festival under the theme: “Legacy.” Applicants are encouraged, but not required, to connect their work to the festival’s theme.
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants from all over the world can apply.
- Have at least one printed book.
- They currently live outside of Hong Kong.
- Fluency in English or Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese)
- Participate in a welcome ceremony during the first week.
