NIG Summer Internship 2026 in Japan (Funded)

Applications are now open for the NIG Summer Internship in Japan 2026. Students from any country can apply. The internship is approximately 40 days long, from June 8 to July 17, 2026. It is open to bachelor’s and master’s students who wish to gain research experience. During the internship, students will work on their research project under the guidance of an NIG mentor. There is no application fee. At the end, all interns will give a presentation and share what they have learned. Participants will also have time to travel around Japan, learn about its culture, and enjoy delicious Japanese food. Eligibility Criteria

  • The Internship is open to all over the world.
  • There are no application charges.
  • Candidates must be interested in life sciences.
  • The applicant must be in their final year of the degree program. For example:
  • Students can apply if they are in one of the following:
  •  3rd year of a 4-year bachelor’s degree
  •  2nd year of a 3-year bachelor’s degree
  • 4th year of a 5-year program
  • 1st year of a 2-year master’s program
  • 5th year of a 6-year program
  • Applicants must demonstrate their interest in genetics and related fields within the life sciences.
