Fellowship Theme and Objectives

This is a fully funded fellowship in Germany for professionals from across the automobile, think tank groups, and others that focus on topics related to Turkey. Turkey plays an important role for both Germany and the European Union for many reasons, such as:

Here’s a simpler, more natural version:

Strategic Location: Turkey sits between Europe and Asia, making it an important connection for trade and energy.
NATO Member:  As part of NATO, Türkiye is an important security partner.
Strong Economy Ties: Turkey does a lot of business with the European Union.
Rising Influence: Turkey is becoming more influential in places like the Caucasus, Central Asia, the Middle East, and Africa.
Migration Route: It’s a major path for people moving toward Europe, whether they’re passing through or settling.
Large Turkish Community in Europe: Many people of Turkish origin live in Europe, shaping social and political ties between countries.

Germany and Europe need to understand what is happening in Turkey — in its politics, society, and foreign policy — especially when so much is happening in the world at the moment. Researchers working on topics related to Turkey are encouraged to apply, even if they have not yet completed their PhD, provided they have good research experience.
